Terms of Use

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at launchzero.com and any related subdomains (collectively, the "Site"), and your use of the LaunchZero application and related software (the "Software," and together with the Site, the "Services"). The Services are operated by Security Research Group LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("SRG," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. The LaunchZero Software Is Open Source

The LaunchZero application and its source code (the "Software") are free and open-source software, licensed to you under the AGPL-3.0 license. Your rights to use, run, study, modify, reverse-engineer, and redistribute the Software - and any obligations that accompany those rights - are granted by and governed by that license. Nothing in these Terms limits, conditions, or adds any restriction to the rights the AGPL-3.0 license grants you in the Software, and to the extent anything in these Terms conflicts with that license as applied to the Software, the license controls.

LaunchZero is local-first: you run it on your own hardware. These Terms instead govern your use of the Site and of SRG's brand and content as described below; the Software's licensing is governed solely by the AGPL-3.0 license.

3. Use of the Services

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Services in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, the servers on which it is hosted, or any connected systems, except as expressly invited through a security report to reports@securityresearch.us.
  • Introduce malware or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
  • Use any automated means to access the Site in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Use the Services to transmit unsolicited advertising or to harvest contact information.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with LaunchZero or SRG.

You are responsible for the policies you configure in LaunchZero and for the actions you permit your agents to take. For actions inside LaunchZero's governed paths, the Software enforces the applicable policy. Disclosed direct capabilities remain outside that boundary, and you remain responsible for how you operate the Software.

4. Intellectual Property in the Site and Brand

The Site and its contents - including text, graphics, logos, images, and documentation - are owned by or licensed to SRG and are protected by intellectual property laws. The "LaunchZero," "Security Research Group," and "SRG" names and marks are the property of SRG. You may view and print content from the Site for your own informational, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify it and you retain all copyright and proprietary notices. You may not otherwise reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written consent. This Section does not apply to the Software, whose licensing is governed solely by Section 2 and the AGPL-3.0 license; SRG's ownership of its names and marks is not a grant of trademark rights under that license.

5. Informational Purpose; No Professional Advice

Content on the Site, including descriptions of the security properties of LaunchZero, is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, regulatory, compliance, or professional security advice. Within its governed paths, LaunchZero is a control point that applies policy and scoped grants; it is not a guarantee that nothing can go wrong, and it is not a substitute for a complete security program. You should not act on Site content without obtaining advice specific to your circumstances.

6. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or resources, and the Software may interoperate with third-party agents and tools. We provide these for convenience and interoperability only and do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products, or services of any third party. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that the Software will detect or prevent every malicious or unintended action. Your use of the Services is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SRG and its members, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based and even if SRG has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SRG and its members, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the Site. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
